Custom Homes

Within the gently rolling terrain of Verrado, our custom homesites offer you rare beauty and exceptional privacy.  Each homesite’s building envelope creates endless possibilities for a lifestyle uniquely suited to you. Some prefer to live close to shopping, schools and entertainment while others opt for wide-open spaces where nature casts its spell.  Learn more about our custom opportunities, featuring mountainside homesites with golf and city views, close to Verrado’s vibrant small town charm.  Homesites range from one-half acre to over three acres.

A pre design meeting launches the design process and familiarizes you with the basics of custom home building specific to Verrado.

You’ll learn the fundamentals of the custom home building process at Verrado, including the design review process, fundamentals of architectural composition and design, and landscape and lighting design. You’ll review and discuss approved architectural styles and pattern guides; sample submissions, models and material boards; forms and checklists; style illustrations; and an architectural style guide. The meeting will give you a comprehensive understanding of how to move forward with the planning of your home.

You may already have some initial concepts in mind before you even meet your builder. The soundest foundation for your project is your criteria. Provide clear insight, and your builder will successfully develop the best concept for you and your lifestyle that also harmonizes with the community today and in the future.

First, clarify your ideas for how you live in your home and what’s important to you, from how you entertain to what you like to do in your leisure time. Comb through design and garden magazines and home furnishings catalogs and clip what enchants you. Take photos of natural materials that intrigue you. Learn about Southwest architecture; collect concepts to discuss with your builder. Discuss ideas with family and friends to help clarify what you want and jot it all down. Soon, you’ll have a clear vision of your home.

Your home will be created based on your preferences and lifestyle within the context of the unique characteristics of your homesite and how it relates to its surroundings. The builder will integrate all of these elements to design a home that you will love, and that will complement the Verrado fundamental premise of a distinctive, harmonious sense of place in the Southwestern Desert.

The first submission is your builder’s informal presentation of a rough design concept, including landscape, to the Design Review Committee. This initial submission ensures that everything is on track. Two formal submissions follow: Preliminary Design Submission and Final Design Submission. Once the final plan has been approved, you’ll receive a letter of Design Committee Approval and can then submit your plan to the City of Buckeye and apply for a building permit.
