Did you know there are several types of targeted marketing groups for home buyers out there and homes are designed for those needs? Now that I have said it, you are starting to think about which one you are. Let’s review some of the over 11 different targeted marketing groups for home buyers and begin with the basics.

First time home buyer: As it states, this is your first purchase of real estate, it might be a house, but it might not be a house, maybe a condo, townhouse, patio home, or whatever you desire. First time home buyers come in all sizes, shapes, and looks. Meaning that you might be single, maybe married, maybe already with kids, heck, you might be retiring but just never owned a home before. More to say there, but for sake of time, we should quickly review the other marketing groups, which are growing family, move-up, executive, downsizing, active adult, retirement, and others. Whatever your stage of life, the type of home you choose and the location is dependent on the aforementioned targeted marketing group that you are in. Community and amenities might play a role in the decision as well. Some communities have something for everyone.

Buying a home can be a complicated task and it takes an experienced real estate professional to help you along the way. In this new era of information at your fingertips, I bet you think you can do this all on your own, just like buying a stapler online. Not so fast! Most real estate professionals (AKA Realtors) take this job very seriously. After all, it is one of the most important decisions their client will ever make. This takes a large amount of research, expertise, and understanding to make the right decision. Do you buy a previously owned home? Do you purchase a new home? What are the advantages and disadvantages of either? In either case, it is important to have representation from a professional that knows these markets well. After all, there is no cost to the buyer for that representation. Ask a real estate professional to do their job for you.
